The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Programme (Information Systems and e-Business Management Concentration) provides students with a broad knowledge of electronic business and management and a solid understanding of information systems auditing to meet the changing needs of a services-led and knowledge-based economy.

 

Unique Features

  • The ISEM Concentration provides students with the knowledge and skills to be a trouble-shooter, a practical problem-solver, and an effective communicator liaising with e-Business and information technology professionals and end-users to solve management problems.
  • Professional recognition is available from Information Systems Auditing and Control Association (ISACA), Hong Kong Computing Society (HKCS), The Hong Kong Institute of Company Secretaries (HKICS) and The Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA), International Institute of Management (IIM), and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
  • IT Governance, Audit and Control course will equip students with necessary knowledge in assisting organisations to solve the problems in organisational governance and IT security triggered by the headline-grabbing financial scandals and IT fraudulent cases of recent years.
  • Affiliated with the China Hong Kong Chapter of ISACA, our Hong Kong Baptist University ISACA Student Group (HKBUISG) provides students with an education on IS Audit and Assurance, Security and IT Governance disciplines as well as a connection with local practitioners.
  • Students can pursue additional graduation options including Double Concentration within BBA, or a Minor in non-business discipline.


Student Learning Experiences

All BBA students are required to complete at least 120 hours of experiential learning activities (exchange/internship/service learning) before graduation.

 

Career Opportunities

Graduates can develop careers as IS auditors, business analysts, consultants, systems analysts, e-Business manager, e-Business analysts, IT coordinator, and instructors or teachers of IS.

 

Remarks

Students may have the option of taking an integrated programme by extending their undergraduate study by one year, leading to the award of a bachelor's degree in that Major plus a Diploma in Education.

Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma Students/ Holders

AD/ HD holders or students studying in the final year of AD /HD programmes may apply for Year 3 entry.

 

Transfer Students

Transfer students are current students of recognised local/ overseas institutions who are enrolled in a full-time or sandwich government-funded or self-financed degree programme.

Applicants who have completed at least one year of study of a 3-year degree programme or two years of study of a 4-year degree programme may apply for Year 3 entry.

Inter-institutional transfer of students is considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

Degree Holders

Holders of Bachelor’s/ Master’s/ Doctoral Degree or students studying in the final year of a degree programme may apply for Year 3 entry.
