The organizational communication concentration prepares the next generation of enterprising graduates by equipping them with the people communication skills to excel in professional organizational contexts.

Our graduates have been enjoying great career mobility as they are well-poised for a range of communication roles in commercial, governmental, and non-profit organizations.

 

Unique Features

The organizational curriculum is a strong blend of theory and practical applications at various levels of communication, emphasizing knowledge integration and creation, the development of expressive and analytical skills, critical thinking, team building, as well as decision-making and problem-solving ability.

The programme offers specific courses to equip students for professional careers in event planning and project management, leadership positions such as management trainee and entrepreneur, and organizational training and development.

 

Student Learning Experiences

Practice incubates knowledge. Our students take up internships with local and international organizations, from “in-house” corporate communication department of publicly-listed companies, start-ups, NGOs and public sector to global public relations and advertising agencies. A well-established industry network is our strength, in which students can better equip their study life with real-world practice.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can fill any of the vast number of the newly emergent communication functions demanded in modern corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Students in the ORGC concentration gradually acquire a set of skills transferable to a variety of professions. In addition to the advantage in communication expertise, our students fare very well in creativity, critical thinking, self-discipline, EQ, problem solving, leadership, team management, project management, and overall professionalism.

We adopt a holistic approach in selecting applicants on individual merits. Applicants are required to meet the University entrance requirements, English Language requirements and Programme entrance requirements (if any).

 

Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma Students/ Holders

AD/ HD holders or students studying in the final year of AD /HD programmes may apply for Year 3 entry.

 

Transfer Students

Transfer students are current students of recognised local/ overseas institutions who are enrolled in a full-time or sandwich government-funded or self-financed degree programme.

Applicants who have completed at least one year of study of a 3-year degree programme or two years of study of a 4-year degree programme may apply for Year 3 entry.

Inter-institutional transfer of students is considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

Degree Holders

Holders of Bachelor’s/ Master’s/ Doctoral Degree or students studying in the final year of a degree programme may apply for Year 3 entry.
